Zhengjie (Sophie) Sun is an innovative and purposeful business leader in the healthcare and life sciences industry with more than 20 years’ work and life experience across three continents (Asia, North America and Europe). Having worked as a corporate executive, venture investor, board member, and business advisor for both for-profit and non-profit sectors, she is well recognized for her expertise and leadership in strategy and partnering, innovation and digitalization, branding and marketing, venture investment and incubation, as well as cross-cultural and cross-functional communications and collaborations. She is currently Partner of KP Healthcare Partners, and was SVP of Corporate Development for Apollomics. Sophie worked for Merck KGaA for 12 years where she took increased responsibilities from Director of Communications, to Commercial Director of Global Oncology Franchise, to Vice President Strategy and Transformation, and Managing Director of Merck Innovation Hub. While working as Director of Communications for Merck KGaA and earlier as Consultant for WPP and IPG, Sophie planned, launched and implemented multiple impactful CSR programs. Sophie also served on various CSR or diversity committees of corporations and non-profit organizations, such as Merck KGaA and American Chamber of Commerce.

Selected as “Top Chinese Women in Tech” by Forbes China and “Outstanding Innovator of Science and Technology” by the Economic Observer, Sophie has been an active advocate for innovation, entrepreneurship and women leadership, through her extensive network in the innovation ecosystem and healthcare/life sciences sector. She is also actively engaged in the philanthropy works serving underprivileged groups, especially for healthcare, education and environment related issues.

Sophie got her MBA degree from MIT Sloan School of Management. She also studied Global Health at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and Health Psychology at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is currently pursuing the Doctor degree of Health Management.
