Mark Boyko, M.D., is a board-certified Emergency and Family Physician that lives in Calgary, Canada. Mark has had a passion for helping in more developing nations since he started medical school. He began as a student doing HIV awareness missions in Tanzania and India. In 2010 he was head physician of a cholera treatment tent in Bod Me Limbe, Haiti, during the outbreak following the earthquake in this region. He has worked as an ER physician in remote northern Canada and a number of other countries in the world. Most recently he designed a trauma teaching series in Papua New Guinea and Cambodia, and acted as consultant to emergency room design at the hospitals there. He also aided in the post-earthquake medical relief in Tacloban, Philippines.
