Nurse Starr has been an RN since 2004. She spent 5 years as an active duty Army Nurse Corps Officer stationed in South Korea and Ibn Sina, Iraq. Starr has spent 9 years in the Emergency Department in Portland, Oregon at Oregon Health and Science University hospital, a level one trauma center. She has volunteered with Global Outreach Doctors on the frontlines in Mosul, Iraq and also and in rural western Kenya providing local nurse education to Kenyan RNs. She has volunteered with the Special Olympics, Portland Parks and Recs, Oregon Kickball Club, and Habitat for Humanity. She’s an avid snowboarder, rides motorcycles, enjoys hiking and backpacking and recently returned from trekking in Mongolia.
